The program on "Open, Distance and e-Learning for Islamic Transformation through Pesantren", supported by ICIP and the Ford Foundation (2007-2010) aims to transform pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) and the communities surrounding them in more modern, open and skilled communities and present an inclusive form of Islam. It is hoped that this program will provide the respective communities taking part in it with information, knowledge and skills in accordance with local needs. It is hoped that this program will help increase the number of high school graduates, students who go on to university and students with skills needed by their local communities.
