ODEL Program Evaluation Workshop I Open, Distance and E-Learning for Islamic Transformation through Pesantren
Open, Distance and E-learning (ODEL) is a program of ICIP and supported by the Ford Foundation, for Islamic Transformation through Pesantren. It was started from April 2007 up to April 2010, which in the mid of 2008 was already one year. There were some targets, which were achieved and some were not yet. This program was trying to optimize the potential of eight pesantrens communities to face Indonesia’s problem of education through giving them space and opportunity to be creative in utilizing technology, which was usually not easy to be accessed by them. |

ODEL Program Evaluation Workshop II Open, Distance and e-Learning for Islamic Transformation through Pesantren Open Distance and E-Learning (ODEL) is a program that works to optimize the potential of eight pesantren and their wider communities in Java. These are located in Banten (An-Nizomiyyah), Jakarta (Al-Kenaniyah), West Java (Al-Musri and Al-Mizan), Central Java (Hasyim Asy’ari and Roudlotul Falah) and East Java (Nurul Islam and Nurul Jadid). ODEL participants play an active role in finding alternative solutions to Indonesia’s national education problems. The learning strategy of “e-learning” aims to improve the quality of teaching styles and subject matter, learning activities, autonomy, and also the general quality of community life. |
